Highgate Accommodation is very pleased to be hosting rally drivers and their teams competing in the Mid Wales Stages of the MSA British Rally Championship on March 5th and 6th 2016. Organisers of the event, Newtown and District Automobile Club, report a record number of more than 60 entries. Proceedings begin at Newtown, Powys, Mid Wales and the new look Rally will take in legendary Welsh forest stages.
The Rally is based at Theatr Hafren in Newtown and kicks off with two stages totalling over 25 miles under the cover of darkness on Saturday March 5. The remaining 43 mile stages are contested on the Sunday before the ceremonial finish greets the competitors back in Newtown. Check out the Rally website for more details at www.midwalesstages.co.uk .
Two of the Rally teams will be staying at Highgate luxury self-catering cottages where there’s plenty of parking, even for regular visitors in regular cars! Just three miles from Newtown, the cottages are an ideal base for the Rally event – or indeed for exploring the surrounding countryside, many tourist attractions and pretty market towns.
Highgate cottages are available all year round, either for short breaks or week-long stays. The converted barns retain many of their old features and are brim full of character. Old Stable Cottage sleeps eight people in four en suite bedrooms, with the smaller Milk Stand Cottage sleeping up to seven with an en suite bedroom featuring a double and single bed, plus a twin and double bedroom sharing a second bathroom. Both cottages have large open plan kitchen/dining/lounge areas, undercover car parking and small gardens with seating and barbeque facilities.
